Super easy, but is there a cheaper way?

Son put a piece of candy on the keyboard and closed the lid that shattered the display.

Swapping the display assembly is super easy, if you have the right tools.

You NEED a PL4 (not PL5), T5, and T8 driver. I prefer German tools: WIHA makes a Pentalobe set (26794), (as well as Torx (26790 ), and any other driver you can imagine). Xcelite does make a Torx set (XPTX600) that allows for more torque. Do not try to substitute for the right driver. If you get a screw stripped out, you have a much bigger headache.
Be careful not to over tighten the screws as you may strip off the head. (Happened to me with one of the T5 screws.)
It appears to be about 1/3 of the price to just swap the display instead of the entire assembly. The display is behind a thin glass that just like with iPads is glued in. I watched a few videos, but then did not want to risk it. However, it does not look substantially more difficult than an iPad display repair (which is pretty up there in difficulty).
