dropped computer and sheared the hinge rod on the the left hinge clutch assembly

99% successful. unfortunately, i did not understand how the inverter plugs was meant to come off the main board and ended up breaking the pins off of the main board, so now the computer is toast. oh well. it ALMOST worked for me.

not sure. i think the page in the guide that explains how to disconnect the inverter plug from the main board needs more clarity. besides that, the guide is very good, and the process is not as hard as the "difficult" rating the process gets. oh, one bit of advice: get a sleeve of small 2-3oz paper dixie cups to keep the screws from each step in. and use a marking pen to mark the cup with the number of the step that removed the screws.

at this point, i'm trying to donate the computer back to ifixit. it's full of parts that they sell. (including the new part i bought from ifixit), but i cannot seem to figure out how. they have a "sell" page, and they don't want to buy my old machine, but there doesn't seem to be an option to donate it. there needs to be.
