I was replacing my hard drive in my iMac using the instructions on iFix it. I just needed a larger hard drive. Upgraded from a 320GB to a 2TB.

The disk swap went fine. The instructions on iFixit were great... No problems there either...

So..... I got my brand new suction cups out. Used them to remove the front glass on my iMac. After I reassembled my iMac, I removed the suction cups and they had left a gummy residue on the glass. Probably cause of the type of rubber used in it.
How I got it off after trying for many minutes with Windex, I ended up using WD-40 with a paper towel. That took the residue off pretty quickly, then I used Windex again to clean off the WD-40...
A lot of people don't know that WD-40 works well as a cleaner for things like adhesive residue (like from stickers). So, there ya go... WD-40 to get rid of the residue and Windex to clean the WD-40...
