Hey Daniel, you installed the actually firmware? I would say, your Blu-Ray lense is faulty. You can clean the lense with special dust-remove discs. Search at eBay. If you have no success, you have to replace the disc drive.
Hello Jeff, uff your phone looks not good. I would say that's to expensive to repair the phone. You need a new screen, a new chassis (I think its expensive), new mute button and then you have to test. If you have bad luck, the logicboard or other parts are faulty, because of the fall on the floor.
Hey, you cleaned the hole logicboard with >90% Isopropanol? I'm not sure but I think there is a chip on the logicboard, which controls the backlight. If you have bad luck, the chip is faulty. You bought a new screen, can you verify that the screen is really working? Maybe you got an faulty screen.
Hello brook, at first you should change the battery and the connecting port. Both hardware cost around 10$ together and are easy to change. If you have bad luck, the U2 IC chip (controls the charging) is faulty. To replace this chip is not easy and you need some equipment like and reflow station, solder and desolder.
Hello levenrek, this small pice is the gsm antenna cover. You have to put it under the battery connector so that the golden site covers the antenna connector. Take a look this picture. But I can tell you that this it not the reason for the error. I have the same. Checkout my thread maybe you have luck and find the faulty hardware. I will try around tomorrow.
Hello Rick, sounds like the dvd lense is faulty. You can try to clean the drive with a "cleaning disk". You can buy one like this Link text. On the bottom, the disc have little brushes to clean the lense from dust. If this not work, you can buy a new drive.
