I got some bad stuff on my iPhone 5 (soaked in margarita), and did not get it to rice for hours. After days in the rice, the phone would attempt to boot but get stuck in a NAND loop, or a red screen. So after waiting for the special screwdriver from ifixit, I took the thing apart and pulled out the logic board, and hosed it down with some Electrosolve contact cleaner, let it dry, and put everything back together. Works just fine now. I thought I was SOL since margarita is nasty stuff on electronics and the time acids were left on there. But yeah. Electrosolve did it for me.
