Battery fails to charge
Device shows no signs of turning on
Faulty charging cable
A sign of a faulty charging cable is when you plug in the charger and the computer doesn't recognize the charge was plugged in.
Try using a different charger to see if the charging cable is the problem.
Faulty battery
Check to make sure the the hole for the charger is not dirty. If it is not the charger, the battery is faulty, follow this guide to replace it.
Screen black out
The screen is not showing any type of response.
Dead/ Faulty Battery
Plug the laptop into the charger. If it does not charge, it is probably a faulty charger or battery. If it acts like it is charging but will not turn on, it is possibly a faulty power button or faulty screen.
Computer in Sleep Mode
Check if the power button is flashing. If it is flashing, the computer is in sleep mode. Try clicking the mouse and waiting 5 to 10 seconds for the screen to light up.
Bad power button
Try pressing and holding the power button down. If the power button responds but nothing shows up on the screen then it is a bad screen. If the power button will not push down try cleaning it to get any dirt or residue out. If it still will not press down follow the guide here to replace it.
Faulty screen
If the laptop power button turns on but the screen does not light up then the screen is most likely faulty. Follow this guide the replace the screen.
Disks are not reading
The computer is not reading the disc that was placed in the disc drive.
Incompatible Disk
This can be caused by a scratched or dirty disc. Use a clean piece of smooth fabric and wipe the disc down. If that didn't work and the disc still cannot be read check for any scratches or dents in the disc.
Faulty Disk reader
Another issue can be a faulty disk reader, in order to find if your disk drive is faulty. Use a few completely different disks and test to see if any of them can be read or opened. If not, your disk drive is the issue and will need replacing. Follow this guide here.
Graphics on screen are distorted
The images on the screen are blurry or dim.
Graphics Card Settings
This could be a resolution offset between the computer and the graphics card. Make sure your monitor and graphics card are using the same resolution. If that did not help, make sure your graphics driver is installed and up to date. If there is still no change, follow this guide to reinstall the graphics driver completely and reinstall it.
Faulty monitor
Another cause of distortion on the screen can be an out of date or broken monitor. With technology advancing incredibly fast, many things quickly get outdated and have to be replaced. Try using a different monitor first to see if there is improvement, if there is than the original monitor was the problem and it will need replacing.
Virus
The screen maybe messed up because the computer has a virus. Try restarting the computer or unistalling anything that has recently been installed. After restarting the computer hold down the F8 key before the windows logo pops up to enter Safe Mode. Once there, run an antivirus scanner that will diagnose and delete the virus.
Constant File Corruption or Deletion
Files on the laptop are no longer on the computer.
Problem with Hard Drive
If the computer turns on but does not going to Windows or error message "no operating system found" then it is likely a faulty hard drive. Try reinstalling Windows. If that does not work follow this guide to replace the hard drive.
Hard Drive Space
If you are low on memory then the computer will remove or delete files in order to forcefully make space for new ones. This may eventually lead to a full system failure but only if not taken care of quickly and correctly. Check to see if your computer is running low on space by pressing the windows home key and searching for "This PC". If you are running low on space, uninstall unused programs and deleted unwanted items. Such as old documents and unopened folders.
