Even with new batteries or recharging the battery pack, the battery life seems really bad, but only on Switch. Anybody else have these issues?

Nintendo Switch 2: Using Switch 2 without any Bluetooth when docked?

With the first generation of Switch (which I’ll call “Switch 1”), it is possible to use the console in dock mode (plugged to a TV) while preventing the console to emit Bluetooth. As documented there in the last two comments, all you need to do is use only a wired controller and enable the setting that forces it to communicate with the console via its cable.

I’m wondering if the same thing could be done on Switch 2.

The user manual says that, when docked, the console always activates its Bluetooth antenna. This behaviour is identical to Switch 1. However, I suspect it does not emit any signal as long as no wireless controller tries to communicate with it. This is how Switch 1 works, thus enabling to play in docked mode without any Bluetooth.

I contacted customer support at Nintendo. Twice. But the persons I got in touch with did not understand my question, and replied that I “just need to turn off Bluetooth”, which is impossible when the console is plugged to a TV (as Nintendo’s own user manual says).

A friend of mine confirmed that the setting to force wired controllers to communicate via their cable is still present on Switch 2. So the only remaining question really is to know whether the Bluetooth antenna stays silent as long as not wireless devices tries to communicate with it, exactly as Switch 1 did.

So basically outta the blue it suddenly stopped working the pins on the rail and the Joycon itself seemed fine I tryed wiggling it around in the rail still nothin I tryed the sync button but also nothing and I had charged it yesterday also the lights never show anymore and whenever I tilt the stick down(specifically down) it fights the input and just nudges itself back to the middle even if I'm fully tiliting it downwards.

I had re-shelled my switch using a ExtremeRate shell but now my bluetooth connection doesn't work properly.

I can sometimes get one controller to pair ok for a couple of minutes but never two. I replaced the bluetooth module. Any clue?

Nintendo Switch: Quiet speaker on one side

I'm having a problem with my Switch rev1. Right speaker working with noticebly lower volume than the left one.

I'm not the first owner of this console, but I know the capacitors on the left side of the APU cover have been replaced as they were damaged during maintenance of thermal paste replacement.

Replacing speakers (both from a donor) and swapping original speaker from left to right did not solve this. Absolutely nothing changes. What could be wrong?

3.5mm jack and wireless headphones works just fine, only speaker having an issue. Anything on the board could be related?

Nintendo Switch: Replaced Game Card Reader, now Touchscreen doesn't work

I recently had to replace the game card reader in my Switch (2017 HAC-001) due to some bent and missing pins. I used this method and the fix kit from iFixit and the repair seemed to go well. The card reader works and we can play game cards again!

What wasn't apparent at first is that the touchscreen now has issues. Most of the time the Switch remains docked, but when undocking to go portable (from standby), the touchscreen doesn't function properly, registering ghost inputs, rendering the Switch inoperable. Thus far the only solution is to fully reboot the switch prior to undocking. After that, seems to work fine in portable.

This issue was NOT present prior to the repair. Now I see mixed explanations for this issue:

Some posts talk about a potential incompatibility between the Switch and the Card Reader (something about there being multiple versions of the card reader), which I feel is unlikely since after a reboot the issues goes away, AND I know with confidence I have the original HAC-001 model and ordered the appropriate part from iFixit.
Some posts says it may be as simple as the ribbon connecting the game card reader not being fully seated. While this would be great since I could just crack it open and reseat the ribbon, IMHO it still doesn't explain why the touchscreen works after a reboot.
Some posts says I should just use the custom bootloader Hekate to calibrate the touchscreen but I have some apprehensions going down the modded Switch route, this is a family console primarily used by my Wife and kids and I don't want to mess something up.

Any ideas? I'm hesitant to crack it open again without being reasonably sure it will resolve the issue.

Nintendo Switch Lite: How To Remove stripped screws from back shell

while trying to open up the lite I stripped the screws by putting to much pressure on screw driver carving a shape into it I was able to get one out (it wasn’t stripped) I got the screws to replace them but I can’t get the stripped screws out it’s in the top left bottom left and bottom right

Could anyone please help me i was using my switch playing tamadachi life using touchscreen to face paint than i took a break i turned it to sleep mode and when i came back my touchscreen just stopped working and its not responsive. I didnt even throw my switch or anything like that and also tried to reboot couple of times and still not working.

Switch Pro Controller: Battery drains after analog stick replacement

I replaced the analog sticks in my Pro Controller but now the controller drains the battery, from full to dead in just a few hours - not being used, the Switch is off, the controller is off. I've confirmed the battery does charge to full and works fine for gaming. I've switched the battery itself with another controller and confirmed that's not the issue. The controller works fine plugged in as well. It's just a matter of the battery draining quickly while not in use.

Did I mess something up when I replaced the analog sticks? Is there anything I could check or do to try to correct this issue?

Nintendo Switch 2: Controllers animate when connected, but do not seem to fully connect

I have a Switch 2 that has been fully reset. With brand new confirmed working joycons, I am not able to get past the initialisation screen.

If you connect the joycons, the sides of the screen animate correctly showing that they do connect, but never goes any further than this.

In recovery mode, the joycons do not work either. I am guessing the issue is related to bluetooth (I assume the joycons will pair on connection, and this is failing) but I cannot be sure as I can't get past the initial "connect the joy cons" screen.

The main thing throwing me off here is that the joycons appear to connect

So i just did a full shell mod and screen replacement on my switch lite and ever since I have these problems with the buttons,thumbsticks, and touchscreen not registering my presses and movements I replaced the ribbon cable to the right daughter board thinking it was the problem and I have seated and reseated all of the ribbon cables, put two different pairs of joysticks. And its really hit and miss as to when it does it but it wont let me do multiple presses making it to where I cant unlock my device. Does anyone have any ideas what I should do I have all the electronics repair tools needed to fix most things

Hi everyone, I replaced the battery on my Nintendo Switch, but now the console won't turn on or charge at all. I have already checked and secured the battery connection, performed a hard reset (holding power for 15+ seconds), inspected the connector pins for damage, and even tested with the old battery, but nothing works. Hi, I have a problem my switch does not recognize the joy con as connected when i slide it in the switch. The joy con still works but only wirelessly. It does get charged but nothing else. I tried other joy-cons with no luck.

I ordered a new right rail from eBay. I thought the rail might be the problem . I replaced it successfully but no change. If anyone has an idea i would appreciate it.

I just bought a switch lite off of marketplace. There is a faint light outline around the border of my Switch Lite screen. The console works perfectly otherwise, and it hasn't been dropped. Is this normal for these handhelds, or is there a way to fix it without replacing the whole screen, or I just need to reseat it?
