intermittent failure associated with interior light off

I have a whirlpool microwave, about 5 years old. intermittent failure to heat when the interior light goes off. That light can come back on and then heat as well as the turntable work. Coincidence? Not sure. I can provide s/n et. al. but want a first take on what be causing this.
