Replaced Display now only Apple Logo

I replaced a display on a 4S for a friend. When it left my house everything worked fine. The phone was prompting for the ios6 update. In the morning she had gotten the USB plug and itunes logo. She updated the ios now no battery life. I have checked all connections and they are tight display is working properly also. Any ideas on what is wrong?
