"No Memory Card Error" What next?

Hello Everyone. I am new here so bare with me.

I tried all the "WONDERFUL' toothpick tricks and what not, to no avail. I still do not have successful results.

I disassembled the camera completely.

I am attaching some pictures to see if anyone sees something that I am missing. Something I am overlooking. Also, is there an option to fix the memory card slot…ie. Soldering or replacing it?

Your comments are welcomed and appreciated

Thanks

I assume that you originally tried more than one card, just to rule that out as the cause. You can replace the card reader, as long as you find a proper replacement. This one should be a standard one, so I would try to scrounge a broken camera and replace it. the soldering will be somewhat tricky and will require a bit of practice :-) but it can be done.

One of the contact pins are probably bent or mashed in.

The way SD card slots are soldered to the PCB makes it nearly impossible to replace. Machines, not man solders this stuff together when it's made.

Your best bet is to get a good main PCB from a junker SD1000 camera on eBay.

Thank you very much for responding.

I went ahead and purchased a new PCB on Ebay.

I really wanted to try to replace the memory card slot but as you said, it can be really tricky and besides, I did not have the correct solder pin.
