I have an iPhone 4S. Alerts, alarm, ring all work. No music though. Weird part, when I use the side volume buttons the symbols appears, but the volume bars aren't there. Can anyone help?

Clean the iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, clean again with small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

What happens when you plug in earphones and then take them out again? A little button in the jack might still think something is pluged in.
