I have a HTC Vivid it got a lil wet and now the backlight doesnt work. Everything works great still it just flickers a lil bit when on a white screen and its very dim. I want to see if I can fix it myself rather than buying a new phone. I'm not sure what parts I need and where to get them or if its even fixable.

monica, best case scenario, your LCD is shortened and needs to be replaced. Worst case scenario, the backlight circuit on the motherboard has shorted out and probably warrants a new circuit board. I would go ahead and at least clean the phone properly. Disassemble it as far as possible, then clean all the parts with +90% isopropyl alcohol and a small brush. When done, replace the battery and reassemble to further evaluate for any damage. Hope this helps, good luck.
