dryer makes thumping sound
When ever we dry clothing, it sounds like there is a shoe in the dryer. Makes a. Thump, thump. Quiet. Then thump thump in that pattern until the load is dry. Any ideas?

Drive Belt
If the dryer makes noise, the belt may be frayed or damaged. If the belt is damaged, it will make noise every time it travels around the pulleys. The drive belt is a long, narrow band that wraps around the entire drum, then around a tension pulley and the motor pulley.
There are several other things it might be, so let us know if this is not it.

could be one or more of the fins in the dryer drum is loose.

Me too. Only happens for a short time at start of drying cycle.
