Will not switch off

My 3gs will not switch off on the top button. Will not reboot either, which normally sorts minor problems out. When I try to reboot by depressing and holding the off and home buttonds I get 'Voice Control' instead of option to power down.

You power button sounds like it's broken..

Go to settings then general then accessibility and click on that turn the assistive touch option on..

A little circle will appear press that and press device now you will see lock screen no put your finger on it and hold til the slide to power down appears

Worked perfectly, many thanks.

Was stumped when trying to turn it back on, put it on charge which did the trick!.

Is there another way if I did not have access to a charger?.

No charger is the only way to turn it on unless you fix power button
