Screen does not allways react to touch

Half of the time when I press a letter or an app icon or anything on the screen nothing happens. I like this tab I have been using it for a few years everyday and would like to continue using it.

Do you think it is worth fixing the tablet?

How much does the digitizer cost and where ca one buy it?

Is it very dificult for an ordinary handy person to open the tab to change the digitizer ?

Should I try to do it myself or should I have someone profesional do it?
