1 How to clean the tip
I have just bought a copper sponge, but i dont know how to use it properly. Can someone give me some advice please

Basically, you just wipe the tip of the hot iron in the sponge, as if it was wet. Please refere to the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y1xQ0Xe...
Once you are done soldering, you should put a small amount of solder on your tip. This solder creates a protective barrier against the element and make sure that your tip stays as good as new.

Yes you will want to simply wipe the tip onto the sponge. That will remove any excess and clean it off.
Also make sure you are tinning your solder tips when you get them, and after every project. That should extend their life and keep them from oxidizing. Here is a helpful article on tip tinning and care: http://blog.gotopac.com/2013/04/11/solde....
