Replaced wifi antenna but still no signal

Hi. I tore the wifi antenna while replacing the digitizer glass on my Ipad2. I've since replaced the antenna assembly twice (thinking the first one was defective) but I still get no wifi signal. I'm guessing the next step is to replace the wifi board but I wanted to see if anything else could be involved or if someone thought I was missing something obvious?

Thanks, -CM Carr

Is wifi just very weak?

can u send a pic of were the antenna sits on the frame on the far right hand side?

Yes. Very week. If I hold the ipad right next to the router I get a strong signal and it works fine... When i Move 24 inches away it goes dead. I'll upload a photo of it tomorrow... why, do you think its shorting there or something? I've taken the motherboard and daughter card out and that end seems fine so not I'm wondering about the antenna end on the right.

Can u send a pic?

You see the antenna on the right unscrew it and lift it up is there still peices of the old antenna on the frame? If so that means the antenna you are screwing to the frame is not getting the correct grounding

No, it was cleaned properly and the new foam on the bottom secures it to the frame and the top adhesive is well positioned on the back of the digitizer. If it was the daughter board I don't think it would work at all so this remains elusive and unexplained to me.
