2009 Volkswagen Jetta (diesel) ignition issues?

I get this flash when you switch the ignition after the engine starts it goes off I need the logic to rule out the possibilities of a defective sensor or a wiring issue i need the location of ports in the car and the software should work in mac how do i get the software please guide me THANK YOU
