What is the antenna on the Opposite side of the camera for

I have a Blu Life Play I bought as a spare 6 months ago and just found there's a problem.

There's a metal strip placed incorrectly during the injection moding that ended up twisted and sticking out a bit from the top right corner of the inner rear housing (i.e. the plastic part that holds the innards sandwitched to the screen).

It's right next to the SIM 2 slot and connects to two metal bumps on the PCB. I figured out it must be some sort of antenna but I'm not sure what for.

I need find out what this is and if it's working properly to decide if I should RMA the phone.
