Blue Screen after Digitizer Replacement

Device was working well prior to repair except for the cracked glass. Prior to fully seating new glass I turned on the device and the display showed the Apple symbol then a Blank Blue screen and shut off (it continued to do this several times). Booted into recovery mode (LCD showed Itunes logo) and can not load new software due to (9) error. Any ideas as to the problem?
