Refuses to get out of headphone mode (A1387)
I have a Verizon 4S, and I had just finished replacing the front screen as well as replacing the headphone jack. The headphone jack is working when I have headphones plugged in, but when I remove the headphones, the phone refuses to recognize there are no headphones plugged.
- Settings -> Sounds -> Change With Buttons is currently on, and plays through the speakers (Ringer Mode) just fine, but doesn't actually go from Headphone to Ringer.
- Headphone jack has been cleaned out with a Q-tip with barely any cotton on the end (dry), spin it, in and out (no innuendos intended), the whole 9 yards.
- I have already tried re-seating the headphone jack cable that plugs onto the logic board, and then resetting the phone, but still jumps straight to Headphone mode. Volume buttons and mute switch do work.
- Issue started happening ever since I finished up the replacements on my phone.
- While the phone is on and I have music playing, if I unplug the headphone jack cable, music will start playing from speakers, thus in ringer mode. The second I plug the cable back in, it goes back into Headphone mode even without headphones plugged in.
So I was just wondering if there are any other steps I can try to either resolve the issue or to start narrowing down what the exact issue is.
