The battery on this computer lasts less than an hour with minimal usage. I don't use it for much other than using basic internet and within about thirty minutes, it's telling me that I already need to plug the computer into the charger.

Laptop batteries typically need to be replaced every couple of years because the ability for the charge to be held diminishes the more you use it. I recommend looking for a replacement battery online and follow this guide to replace it. It looks pretty easy as it's only a little spring loaded slider that has to be pushed before the battery pops out.
