Why did my laptop suddenly shut down?

I was using the laptop last night and all of a sudden everything stopped. I have no power. I push the power button but get nothing. It is plugged in but not responding in any way. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it?

Does the power button light turn on? It happend to me, I think the MoBo or the VGA has fried.

power comes on briefly for about 30 seconds then shuts down. Sent to repair shop. They tried new MoBo then Vid card then processor then memory-nada
