Ghost touches and twitch after screen replacement

Hey,

I recently performed a screen replacement on an iPad 2 and everything looked good, but after I entered the pin for the first time, the device immediately went into the calendar.

Reading various tips on this site, I found that the "ghost touches" were often a result of contacts being triggered and that taping the connections on the underside of the screen would solve that issue. To test that this was the issue, I booted the device and entered the PIN while the screen was off (so that nothing could possibly be touching the contacts inside) to test that this was indeed the issue.

Unfortunately, the device went straight into the calendar again. When I turn the device sideways, the iPad doesn't go straight into the calendar (presumably because wherever the screen is registering a touch, no longer has an application under it).

Thinking that it might've been some sort of dust or residue on the screen, I've tried cleaning both the screen and the underside of the screen (using compressed air to eliminate dust and contact cleaner to remove any residues). This doesn't seem to have any effect.

I also notice that while the screen is off and the device is on, there's a little "twitch" to the screen. Like someone is trying to swipe the clock and the "Swipe to Unlock" button to the side. This could have something to do with the screen being off still, but I figured I'd mention it in case it's a symptom.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
