My screen is unresponsive to touch

So I dropped my iPhone a while back and the entire right half of my screen won't respond to touch. So I've tried restarting, restoring and updating my phone, and nothing has worked. So I've resorted to trying to drop it and get the piece that was disconnected to reconnect and I think I've made the problem worse. Now not only does it have 5 pinkish/white lines on the right half of the screen, it it has horizontal lines throughout the entire screen ( like when you there's no channel on an old TV)

What do I do? Can I fix it myself or did I just destroy it? I've seen sort of similar circumstances and people have said to take into a store, but I probably can afford to get it fixed that way.. Any advice?

I don't think that it is possible to know whether it is fixable or destroyed without opening it up, though I lean toward destroyed. If you open it up you could remove the shield and try re-seating the connectors on the cables that go to the display/digitizer. That's the cheap fix, if it works.

If re-seating the connectors doesn't work, then you either have a problem on the logic board, or the display/digitizer assembly. You could buy a display/digitizer assembly, and try that first; it's cheaper than the logic board. However, you might end up where it really is the logic board, and then you're out money for a display you didn't need, plus the cost of a logic board ($$$).

This is one of those situations where you would probably be money ahead to just take it in to Apple for a flat-fee replacement.
