keeps switching itself off Tab 3?
Is it possible to remove the screen with out cracking it? Or do i need to get a new screen before i start to take it off? I need to get to the battery connections.

You will have no problem opening it with plastic opening tools, i've opened several and never cracked the screen. Insert the tool from the top like the picture shows in all the guides (which by the way could use more in depth pictures as far as opening, will prevent all these questions) and just rotate downwards until it pops the clip. You will have to do this in many spots, but damaging glass should not be an issue.
