Difference between ipad 3/4 rear facing cameras?

When placing a new camera in the ipad 4 I noticed it would randomly freeze, then work, then freeze, so on and so forth. I have noticed this with multiple devices.

I found that the ipad 3 rear facing camera is part number 1257-A, and the ipad 4 rear facing camera is part number 1310-A.

There are slight differences in the camera but unless you see the part number it is hard to tell.

I just want some confirmation if anyone else has seen this issue with putting ipad 3 rear facing cameras in an ipad 4? I know the front facing cameras are different as well. If you place a ipad 3 front facing camera in an ipad 4 the image will be upside down. Tested this with multiple device as well.
