2002 Nomad engine stops when put in gear after kickstand is up

I have a 2002 kawasaki nomad 1500cc with kickstand safety switch. have inspected kickstand stop switch, wiring and connections...found no problems. Shorted connection to bypass switch....engine still stops when put in gear.
