Incoming messages deleted before I can read them

Some sort of data storage bug?

The phone was working fine, then it was switched off for 2 days and when I turned it back on, the time was wrong and didn't correct itself. It notifies when message comes in, but there is no record of a new message to be found. I take a photo and everything works normally but then when I try to access the gallery there is no record of that photo ever existing.

I have tried deleting photos and clearing inbox, turning it off and on again.
