I have an iphone 4 and it does not powers on. No water damage on this phone indicators are clean. The phone is completely dead, itunes does not recognize it. Tricks like push power button and home button together does not work. No sigh of life in this phone even if i charge it all day. The motherboard is so clean, looks perfect but it does not work. I think its the power ic chip. Can someone tell me how to check this chip?

hi John,
I had the same problem.
i checked the power connector with a multimeter. ( remove the battery, connect the iphone to an adapter (charge it) and see with the multimeter.) if you have power the problem will be at the main board ( or battery).
if not try with another cable/adapter.
i replaced the motherboard, you can find these from other broken iphone's ...

Ok, so i remove the battery and i put an iphone charging adapter. Then where i put the multimeter points to check the motherboard?
i'm sorry it took so long but i was on a long vacation, do you still have the problem ?
It was the battery, but please if you want tell me where to put the multimeter points to check the power?
ok, well i will try to make a picture en post it here. or you can try it yourself : see this youtube movie how to test the battery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msamRT28... and to test the connection on the mainboard ( power up the iphone without the battery ) i did'nt found a youtube movie but it is about the same. good luck, if it doesnt work , get back to me and i will try to make pictures en post it.
