How do I clean and repair the solenoid water valves?

I live in an area where the water has a high mineral content. The solenoid valves do not seat and leak. How do I access the valves? Can I dismantle and clean the valves? Are these valves a diaphragm or a spool valve? Can i fet parts or must the valve be replaced as a unit?

the water valves are not very expensive - they may be available 2nd hand - try the scrappers

earlier machines may use identical parts

be very careful not to allow water to splash on or penetrate Motor Controller Panel etc

it could / will blow-up
