Is the dock cable really sensitive?

I've done a couple dock replacements on my phone. I've noticed the adhesive is what helps make everything work. For example if the cable isn't glued down and plugged in it doesn't work fully. Like it won't charge. Is it my motherboard or is it just the way the 5s is built. It doesn't look like my motherboard is damaged and I didn't pry up with tools either so I'm not sure. Any ideas? Thanks

So you have replaced the charging dock and you arnt able to charge your device? Will the phone power up, or have you tried a new battery?

Itll chage unlessnthe cable is perfectly down and glued
