Not much info on repairs
I haven't seen much information or teardowns on the 2015 MBP 15 inch here. Is it that much harder than 2014 to repair?
I'm going back and forth at which year to get.

Indeed its very hard to repair this model.
I have a link about a tech review ( its written in dutch but you can try to translate the site...)
you always can try to do it yourself but you will need a lot of experience ..
its much harder to repair than older or former models.
