Send power to detached screen to light up the apple icon.

I have a detached MacBook screen that doesn't get a picture to it. The backlight still works though.

My request is for more of a hack than anything else. I want to figure out a way to hook up a small power source to illuminate the backlight and turn on the apple icon in return.

I am curious if anyone has done this and how it turned out. If anyone has any pointers on how I could go about this I would be open to that also.

Im also not opposed to taking the whole screen apart and building something small in the shell with a different light to light it up.
