device will not turn on

I replaced the charging assembly unit and all seemed to go well. I plugged it in and the charging light came on and the charging icon on the screen came on. However, I'm unable to turn the phone on. The on/off button looks undamaged. I tried wrapping it in tinfoil, but that didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
