Wired Controller Disconnect issue

So I'm having trouble with my controllers stay connected to my xbox. My wireless ones would disconnect and reconnect every 3 seconds so I got a wire and have been playing with a wired controller. Well now my wired controller will disconnect but it won't show it on the controller, a button or something will stick and stay stuck until the controller reconnects. I live in the country so there's no way it's interfering with something. I don't know what is wrong with my xbox but I heard maybe it has something to do with the wireless router? But I'm not sure and I don't want to have to pay another $60 on top of the $450 I payed for the junk. Please someone help me!

Hi,

I doubt it's anything to do with your wireless router, although a quick way to test is to power off your router and check the controllers.

Have you tried factory resetting the XBOX?

I haven't tried that but could it possibly be the wifi board? And if I was to reset would I need to back up my storage before hand?

Sorry Zach, I had replied to this but the comment was marked as spam for some reason... I thought you had posted about an Xbox One which has a factory reset option.

If you plug your wireless controller in via the play and charge cable does it work fine?
