After wash, screen broken

After I ran the ipod nano 6th gen through the wash on accident, I sat it in a bowl of rice for about a week.

Turned it on and the only problem was the screen was spotty, but enough that I could change menus.

Bought a new screen in a kit off ebay and came here.

Been trying to install new screen, bit it stays black. The computer still reads it when plugged in though. Even used a small bristle brush on the chips with 91% alcohol to clean the terminals.

Any suggestions?
