Replacing the battery issue

I purchased the battery replacement kit and began the repair process. As careful as I was, when it came time to push the logic board out of the case the hold switch plate ribbon cable broke. I was extremely careful and made sure the hold switch plate was inside of the case so it wouldn't catch on anything but it still broke. My question......is there any chance of repairing this or am I now better off buying a new ipod. Can this be soldered? Any ideas would be appreciated.
