Where can I buy a laptop screen replacement?

Still running fine as a secondary unit; however, the screen is not working. I'm using an external monitor.

I think I need either:

  1. a new connector cable, or,
  2. a totally new screen.

Does anyone know where I could find used ones for less than the price of a new netbook?? The "parts" sellers are asking way too much.

I've been told that if the cable's the problem, it could cost +/- $25 and if the screen's the problem, it could cost +/- $100. These would be used parts and that's ok. I'd also need to R&R instructions.

If it is the screen; your cost looks right at $100+; if it is just the cable it can be had for $10 with shipping as low as $2. http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?ac...

Hi thanks for the advice here. I had cracked my screen on my hp laptop and was at a loss, I called hp and they wanted 395.00 (are they totally off their rockers?) anyways , I took your advice and got a laptop screen replacement from http://www.laptopmart.ca and they installed for almost half the price with 3 years warranty. So my advice to anyone out there - it will save you money at this repair shop. Thanks once again , you saved the day.

I have had the best experience from laptopscreen.com -- They are reasonable in price, provide a quality screen with a 3 year warranty, ship swiftly and provide step-by-step instructions and video's for the most popular brand and model laptops. They also provide the same for iPads and iPhones but for some reason they have no information or screens for iPods. I used them twice for laptop screens and have been extremely satisfied.

You can buy laptop screen here. If you reside in London they can even replace it for you. All the work is done onsite no take away. Other wise you can always rely on ebay just type the laptop model number or if you opened it look for the LT number at the back of your screen.
