Fans always run high - even after cleaning out, replacing LB

Fans are running constantly at full speed even when internal temps are normal (all below 50C).

Tried: reset SMC; zap PRAM; clean out dust; boot from another drive; replace logic board.

ASD reports errors: SMC Critical Sensor Check, ThunderBolt Proximity, S2 Camera Proximity, AirPort Proximity, Memory Proximity and Trackpad Skin. These errors occur with both original and replacement logic board.

Since these sensors appear to be all over the place (on and off the LB?), I suspected the logic board as the culprit. But the problem persists.

Any hints?

Do you have all the connectors right and tight?

Did you get your system wet?

I have rechecked the connectors and I found no evidence of water damage (no sensors were tripped and there are no stains. Are all these sensors on the logic board itself? Would it be likely I received a logic board with the identical sensors failing as the original board? Or is there another board (charge board or trackpad board) that contains these sensors? I have been unable to find a schematic for this model to locate the sensors.
