The hammer follows the Slide forward when fireing

This can be caused by several different things, ranging from damage to the sear or hammer spur to worn leaf spring to a bad trigger job. If you could provide more info I could help more.

Hi Darrel,
Follow down is most likely caused by negative sear engagement and/or not enough sear engagement. I recommend taking it to a trusted gunsmith to have it fixed. check out the hammer and sear engagement notches; if all looks like no one has messed with it, replace the sear/disconnector/grip safety flat spring. Then test with two rounds in the magazine until it proves itself.
