My tablet was working fine earlier today and towards evening. my tablet couldn't connect. we have time warner wifi . This is the first time I have had problems with it. I haven't dropped it or anything. Why would my wi fi stop connecting?

If other devices connect to the WiFi Access point then most likely it your tablet. Have your tried forgetting the network and reconnecting? Forgetting your WiFi network will require you to re-enter the password. I have seen this on many devices where after a while for some reason the saved password becomes corrupt.
