The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the central control unit circuit board (CCU) on-board program chip (EEPROM) is malfunctioning and so the rest of the circuit board is unable to get the data it needs to run the cycle properly. A power glitch can cause this error. Try unplugging the appliance for two minutes to see if that clears the error. If the code returns, you will probably have to replace the CCU.

You can also try selecting a different cycle. Eg, I got an F14 on delicate cycle. I paused and cleared machine then restarted on normal cycle, reselecting my water temp and load volume. Likely my CCU board is possibly going however I've had the Kenmore Elite H3 for over 10 years and during its lifetime, I've numerous codes pop up. I'm not entirely eager to run out and buy a replacement just yet. Fingers crossed…appliance rarely fails me! Good luck.
