software keeps frezzing with no port to plug in too

I got a tablet with it's mini USB port broken off pushed in & the battery was also disconnected, so I then soldered connection back. Able to charge & turn on the tablet, it starts loading with it's logo name & that was it, only the first time it did start updating but, never more than that till battery died. Now what can I do, please let me know, & with the mini USB port gone, I would understand the better luck next time help. Thank you.
