Replaced Touch ID Flex and still not working.

So I originally was replacing my Wifi antenna strip, which required me to remove the logic board. When I went to reinstall everything, after attaching all of the connectors properly, my Touch ID sensor stopped working. The home button itself still works but the fingerprint scanner doesn't let me turn it on or even use it. Read up and replaced my home button flex cable (came with the whole metal backing, heatstrip, etc)....and still no Touch ID. I've examined my connetors and they are all still intact. I've tried reconnecting them about 10 times now and still the same result. I've run out of ideas. Please give me suggestions (besides boycotting Touch ID for the rest of my iPhone 6 ownership).

Why was you replacing your wifi antenna in the first place? It's quite rare for the 6 to have wifi issues.

You've done the basic parts replacements, with the flex cable on the shield etc.

It's possible you've caused damage on the logic board when removing it etc.

Any liquid damaged? Heavy drops etc.?

Even a very tiny tear in the home button can cause the Touch ID not to work, or bending the cable too much, or using too much heat to remove the home button etc.

My phone had a minor drop that caused an issue with wifi connectivity. Getting a new antenna fixed the problem with that. No liquid and no heavy drops, only dropped it once from about a foot off the ground. I followed the logic board removal guide to every little detail so can't possibly see how I could've damaged it. Didn't remove the home button at all so wouldn't think there would be a tear. What cable are you talking about that I could've bent too much?

I was talking about the home button flex but you haven't touched that you said.

You must've damaged something on the logic board for the Touch ID not to work, especially if it was working before you opened it.

You may have damaged something taking off a connector, very tiny chips are all over the logic board, and can be damaged with a fingernail or a pry tool.

Even ESD (electrostatic discharge) can damage it.

A replacement touch ID sensor will never work. The original sensor works only with your motherboard and nothing else.

I've heard unplugging the battery while its on may short out or cause problems with the touch ID. Did you turn the phone off prior to opening it?

He replaced the cable under the shield, not the home button itself.

When the touch ID stops picking up touch and the home button still functions, that means the touch ID will never work again. The touch ID senor that came with the phone itself is the only one that is compatible with that iPhone. The best thing to try would be find a broken iPhone 6 on eBay and see about getting just the home button. Maybe a OEM Apple button will work.

Only the original home button will have Touch ID, no other button will, even an original home button from another iPhone.
