constant vibration and battery drain

Hi guys, am Travis, I have this iPhone 5s that I just got from a pal. When I opened it up there were no water marks on it, but the problem is that when I connect a battery full of power it starts vibrating then the battery is drained of its power, what could be the problem guys?
