Remove the plastic plate on the end with all the connection ports. I used a very small flat head screwdriver. Once opened, look inside with a flashlight and you'll see a small plug. I used very small needle nose pliers and just unplugged it, waited a few seconds and plugged it back in. Be careful not to damage any of the other parts. This allowed me to turn it off manually. Once you've done this, replace the plastic end piece and you can start from the beginning. This helped me. I certainly hope it solves your issue as well.
