Image burning around the edges of my iPad mini 2 retina...

I just replaced the retina LCD on my iPad mini 2 LTE and upon booting up, the screen edge about a half inch thick is showing lighter ring and images burned into the corners. Is this a bad LCD screen or an issue with the backlight?
