Can you give us your exact model here? If you go to the 'About This Mac' menu option you can get the systems serial number and paste it here: EveryMac - Lookup. Then, paste your systems URL here for us to see. Once we know what you have we can give you the guidance & part info you'll need to fix things.

well the first thing to know regardless of what model you have is whether or not you have a warranty or insurance on the mac. if so know that opening it yourself will void that. if you are not worried about warranties or whatever then simply find out what model it is like @danj said and look up where you can get a battery to replace your failing one. if you have the know how then you can replace it but i always have to say try to get a professional to do it because you do not want to make any mistakes and render your computer useless. the short answers of how to replace it are send it back to apple, take it to a professional, or take the bottom of the computer off find the battery take the old one out and replace it with the new on exactly how it was before you took the old one out. i hope that this helps

Your answer is premature. We have to know what machine we are talking about first. There are guides for replacing almost any Mac battery on the site and better support here than you will find almost anywhere in the world.

It's best to get the facts before wasting time on an answer like this. Also a battery problem seldom needs a professional unless it is a glued in Retina.

that is why if you look at my answer i clearly said find out what model and also said if you know how to do it then he could do it. so please read the entire response and make sure you understand what is written before wasting everyones time with a response such as the one you wrote which shows that you did not read what i had said. knowing the warranty status is always important before opening anything and i also said find out the model right after that. please for future reference read to comprehend and not just to bash others. thank you and have a great day
