Have you checked the back of the printer? This is a removable panel there. See if it is securely attached.

Yes and I also cleaned all the rollers and blew out the dust.

I had the same isuue! I thoroughly cleaned out the back panel and then went to tools then maintenance and went to the last option of paper guide cleaning. Once I used that option on both trays and after all the other cleaning it now prints fine on both sides.

I have the same issue, and my printer is less than one month old! Yesterday I had to manually reconnect it to the internet as it stopped recognizing it in the middle of a print job. Today it won't print two sided. What a piece of junk! I certainly won't spend more money to get it running properly; if I spend more it will be on a printer that is not an Epson! I rely on my printer for my work, so doing without is not a viable option.

I had the same issue and when I removed the back panel I found that one of four guide tabs was bent and after I straighten the tab I was able to print two sided without paper jamming.

If you remove the back panel there are guides. If one of them is bent, try to restore it. I had to remove it entirely. Then my two sided printing worked again.

I found the solution was to replace the Epson Ink Maintenance Box (T671000) in the back of the printer. Ink Maintenance Box stores ink that gets flushed from the system during print head cleaning. I purchased it from Amazon.com for 20 dollars. All the problems with duplex (2 sided) printing I had with my printer went away as soon as I replaced this. According to EPSON’s website I should have received a warning to replace this box, but I never did. So if this box has never been replaced and your printer is 2-3 years old, I would recommending replacing it. Hope this information Helps.

When I removed the cover from the rear of the printer I saw a row of finger guides, and one was bent, Thinking the bent finger was the cause of paper jamming after printing on the first side I bent it back in line with the other finger guides and now it prints 2 sided without jamming.

If the paper tears when you remove it from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the printer. If pieces of paper remain in the printer, more paper jams can occur. Reach inside the printer through the ink cartridge access door, and then manually move the carriage.

Peter

So I had the same problem with the double sided printing on Epson Work Force Pro WF-4820. The problem with mine was not the ink maintenance box. Once you open the back paper jam cover, get a flashlight and look closely at hte plastic levers that are sticking out from the top. They are white, triangular shaped levers, one on the right side and one on the left side. Make sure that both of them are fully extended. mine was half in. It was hard to see because from the first look they both look the same. If not sure, take a small pick, and carefully reach for the back of the levers and very gently pull them tawards you. This was the only thing that resolved it for me. Hope it helps!

Had the same problem with epson L6170 and I open the back cover , in the cover itself there are four metal levers each is attached to white plastic and secured by screw, one of them was bent so I removed the scree flipped that lever instead of trying to bend it ,then placed it back and that has solved the printer jam during double sided print for me

Had the same problem with my ET 3760. I removed the snap on back cover and found a bent metal paper Guide. Straightened it to match the others and I have no more 2 sided paper jams

Okay friends, after facing exactly the same problem, I used my logical mind and easily solved problem. My printer is Epson L605, stopped printing double side, old 3-4 years, printed a lot. Most of Epson printers are basically have the same concept. Everything works well except double side printing. After you put up the cover, you will notice 5 (or more and less) small rollers, which you can see on the photo enclosed, but you certainly do not think that their need is to be oiled. Do you see that small sponges full of oil? Press it and you will find that it is oiled. Oil evaporates as every other liquid. So, rollers are out of oil, and normally, they are out of function. I have just put my finger into the sponge, spread it to rollers, and problem is solved.

Epson will never advise this solution, but problem is to find which exactly oil is compatible for oil lubrication of the system of any device.

I don't think the oil provides traction. I'm thinking it soaks into the roller and causes it to explan. Thereby making tighter contact with the paper. What do you think?
